Dr. Menendez was born in Cuba and raised in Lake City, Florida. He earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Florida in 1977 and his Dental Degree from the Columbian School of Dentistry in 1982. He completed a two year comprehensive Dentistry Program at University of Florida in 1987.

Dr. Menendez is an active member of numerous organizations, including the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Upper Pinellas County Dental Association, and West Coast Dental Association. He is also a member of the Academy of General Dentistry where he has achieved the status of Fellow of the Academy. In addition, Dr. Menendez belongs to the Pinnacle Advanced Dental Implant Study Club.

Dr. Menendez has been a resident of Pinellas County since 1983. He enjoys many outdoor activities including family outings, fishing, boating, scuba diving, spear fishing, golfing and snow skiing. Dr. Menendez also enjoys attending church and is an active member of Palm Harbor United Methodist Church. He is the current president of The Suncoast Seals Dive Club and also participates in Kiwanis Club Charity Dental Events such as "Give Kids a Smile". Dr. Menendez lives in Palm Harbor with his wife, Denise, and has two college students, Kevin and Ashley.
